Danielle Sirois (Pelham, N.H.) scored a career-high 11 points to lead SNHU, but the #16/RV Penmen saw a four-game win streak snapped in an overtime loss to Adelphi, 56-54, on Thursday night.

KEY MOMENTS
- After struggling through a 2-for-15 shooting performance in the first quarter, the Penmen gained steam and rallied to take a 27-26 halftime lead.
- The Penmen opened their largest lead of the game at 50-44 with 4:17 to play, but did not score for the remainder of regulation. A field goal by Adelphi's Emma Cuccurullo with 37 seconds left tied the contest.
- SNHU took a time-out with six seconds left to set-up an inbound play, but Knollmeyer missed the opportunity. Adelphi's try at the buzzer also failed.
- The Penmen did not lead in the extra period, but a free throw by Knollmeyer with five seconds left tied the game at 53.
- Adelphi's Ty Hawkins, who scored a game-high 16 points, drained a three-pointer with 0.8 left to put the Panthers up 56-53. They were assessed a bench technical for coming onto the court to celebrate the shot, giving the Penmen two free throws and the ball.
- SNHU senior Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) made one free throw, and the Penmen could not get a final shot off in the wild finish.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Sirois played only 15 minutes for the Penmen, who used only seven players in the game.
- SNHU was held to a season-low 18 field goals in 58 attempts (.310). Adelphi hit 23-for-62 (.371).
- The Penmen went 14-for-23 from the free-throw line compared to 5-for-12 for the Panthers.
- Adelphi had a 44-40 edge on rebounds and the visitors turned the ball over 24 times compared to 22 for the Penmen.
- The largest lead for either team in the game was seven points when Adelphi finished the first quarter with a 16-9 lead.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which is receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association NCAA Division II Top 25, entered the game ranked 16th in the D2SIDA poll of media members.
- Adelphi has won three straight times vs. SNHU, and eight of the last nine games. Adelphi leads the all-time series 8-6.
- The Penmen had won six consecutive Northeast-10 games since dropping the conference opener to Assumption on 11/17 - also at the Stan Spirou Field House.
- Bentley (8-2 NE10) takes over the top spot in the Northeast Division over the Penmen (6-2 NE10).
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen return to action on Sat. (1/29) with an away contest with Pace University. The game will be part of a doubleheader with the SNHU men.
- SNHU will make-up a Northeast-10 doubleheader with Southern Connecticut State University at the Stan Spirou Field House on Monday (1/31) beginning at 5:30 p.m.
- Fans attending on-campus events at SNHU are required to wear a face mask, regardless of vaccination status. The concession stand will be closed.
