Redshirt-junior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) pounded out a career-high 17 kills and senior Ainsley Knox (Houston, Texas) dished a career-best 53 assists to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory against Assumption University on Tuesday evening at Laska Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- SNHU trailed by five on two occasions in the opening set, but closed the frame on an 8-3 run – highlighted by a trio of Blaskey kills – to pull out the 26-24 win and go up, 1-0.
- Assumption jumped out to an 8-1 advantage and built a 12-4 lead in the second stanza, before the Penmen put together a 10-2 rush that gave them a 21-20 edge. The Greyhounds, however, would score five of the final seven points to even the match.
- Southern New Hampshire fell behind, 3-1, in the third stanza, but ripped off eight straight and 14 of the next 16 points to seize a 15-5 lead. Pimenta had four kills during the stretch. Assumption would eventually climb back to within five, but SNHU closed the set with five straight points, including a pair of Pimenta kills, to go in front, 2-1.
- In the fourth, Assumption went ahead, 9-4, but a 7-1 Penmen run – with a pair of kills from Thawnghmung – catapulted them in front, 17-15. It was a one-point game when SNHU notched five of the final six points, including a huge ace from Knox, to secure the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Set scores were 26-24, 23-25, 25-15. 25-20.
- SNHU outhit Assumption in three of the four sets, as well as .313-.214, overall.
- The Penmen owned an 8-3 advantage in blocks, as well as a 7-6 edge in aces.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which has captured five of its last six matches, including four straight, is 10-3 for the first time since at least 1986.
- Southern New Hampshire has now won 11 of the last 13 meetings with Assumption.
- All 10 of SNHU's wins have come in less than five sets, including six that have only needed three sets.

- The Penmen return to action Friday, Oct. 14 (7 p.m.) when they travel to Franklin Pierce University.
