SNHU scored twice in the first four minutes of the game to open a 2-0 lead, but Southern Connecticut rallied in the second half for a 2-2 NE10 tie on Wednesday in New Haven.  It's the fourth consecutive draw for the Penmen.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS  KEY MOMENTS 
  • The Penmen scored in the first minute when Greene threaded a perfect pass ahead to Sikkema, who buried the shot for a 1-0 lead.
  • Roulston stole a pass at the Owl net and scored at 3:55 for a 2-0 SNHU lead.
  • The two Southern Connecticut goals came about six minutes apart early in the second half on goals by Britt Verstegen and Julia Alicea.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Each team had 13 shots in the contest. 
  • The Owls had a 3-2 edge on corner kicks.
  • The eight saves by Rose was a season-high.
NOTES 
  • Southern New Hampshire records four straight ties for the first time in program history.
  • SNHU leads the all-time series with SCSU (12-11-6).
  • Sikkema and Roulston each scored for the second time this season.
  • For the season, SNHU still owns a 19-8 scoring advantage and a 150-91 margin in shots.
  • The Penmen are now 43-15-12 (.700) over their last 70 matches dating back to the start of the 2017 campaign.

  • The Penmen will play three of the four remaining regular season games at home, starting with a 4 p.m. Homecoming contest Saturday (Oct. 15) against the University of New Haven at Ouellette Stadium.
