Sophomore Carmen Bernardis (Trieste, Italy) tallied a career-high 14 kills, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Saint Anselm College on Tuesday night at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed by eight late in the opening set when an 8-1 blitz pulled it to within 24-23. An attack error ended the comeback and gave Saint Anselm a 1-0 advantage in the match.
- The hosts built a 17-7 lead in the second stanza and would never let the Penmen get closer than six.
- With the third set tied, 26-26, a Pimenta kill gave SNHU the advantage and a Saint Anselm attack error would put the Penmen on the board.
- SNHU owned a 19-14 lead in the fourth, but an 8-1 run from Saint Anselm flipped it in front at 22-20. The Penmen would score four of the next five to get back into it, but with the score even at 27-all, a service error from the visitors and a Kaitlin Brown kill for the hosts gave Saint Anselm the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Set scores were 25-23, 25-18, 26-28. 29-27.
- Saint Anselm outhit SNHU in three of the four sets, as well as .159-.103, overall.
- The Hawks doubled up the Penmen in blocks (8-4) and also held a 6-4 edge in aces.
- Sophomore Eyleen Dias (Plymouth, Mass.) collected 12 digs, which was just one shy of her career high.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire has captured six of its last eight matches.
- The Penmen have their first five-match winning streak since Sept. 15-Oct. 9, 2018 halted.
- Saint Anselm has won nine of the last 11 meetings with SNHU.
