Sophomore Carley Lovejoy (Kennebunk, Maine) opened the scoring , but SNHU fell to Adelphi University in an NE10 game on Thursday, 9-1 in Garden City, N.Y.

  • Lovejoy - 1 goal
KEY MOMENTS
  • The Penmen took a 1-0 lead at 10:27 of the first quarter on a goal by Lovejoy, a lead SNHU carried into the second period.
  • The Panthers tallied three goals in each of the remaining quarters, including three tallies by Bianca Bachisin.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Adelphi had a 25-5 shot advantage for the game, including 15-2 on goal.
  • The Penmen had just two penalty corners to 12 for the Panthers.
  • Freshman goalie Emma Peeters (Wageningen, The Netherlands) made five saves, and freshman Bernardita Diaz de Vivar (Buenos Aires, Argentina) had a defensive stop.
NOTES
  • Lovejoy's goal was her second of the season, which ties her for second on the team.
  • Adelphi has won seven of the eight meetings between the schools, including the last three.

  • The Penmen will travel to Franklin Pierce on Saturday for an NE10 contest.
  • The next home game for SNHU will be Saturday, October 15 at 4 p.m. when the Penmen host Mercy College on Larkin Field in an NE10 contest.
