Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.) scored twice, including the game-winner mid-way through the third period as SNHU hockey topped Post University 4-3 in an NE10 game Friday night at The Ice Den. Graduate student
Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.) stopped 38 shots in the win.

KEY MOMENTS
- It took the Eagles just 1:19 to get on the board as Nick Weber scored the first of his two goals with a deep shot after taking a pass from Nick Brewer.
- With just 17 seconds remaining in the first period, the Penmen tied the game on a goal by Smith off a pass from senior James Nash (Hampton, N.H.). Amante started the play deep in the Eagle zone.
- Post moved back in front on a Weber power-play at 9:38 of the second period, and the Eagles kept the lead through an SNHU 5-3 man advantage.
- The Penmen tied the game at 19:09 of the second when Lynch stole the puck in the Post zone, and whipped a pass over to Amante, who finished off the goal with a spin move, and shot into the far corner of the net.
- SNHU moved in front for the first time at 2:41 of the third. Thurston deflected a shot by junior Derek Flynn (Dracut, Mass.) in for a 3-2 lead. It was his third goal, and third on the power-play this season. Freshman Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.) also assisted on the goal.
- After Conner Murray tied the game with a man-up goal at 7:43, Amante tallied the game-winner at 10:09 on a perfect feed from the left side by Lynch.

- Post had a 41-30 shot advantage for the game.
- The Penmen went 1-for-9 on the power-play, while the Eagles were 2-for-4.
NOTES
- The goal for Smith was his first for the Penmen.
- Thurston has now scored 24 power-play goals in his 51-game career with the Penmen.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Post 13-3.
