SNHU graduate student Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) finished in 3rd place and the Penmen finished fourth at Sunday's NE10 Championships at Saint Michael's College.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Logan's time for the 8k was 25:03.1, good for 3rd place in a field of 125. The finish earned him first-team All-Conference recognition.
- Freshman Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) ran to a ninth place finish in 25:52.5. That earns him second-team All-Conference recognition.
- Sophomore Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) ran a new personal best of 26:03.3, finishing up in 13th place. He also is named second-team All-Conference.
- Also scoring (top 5 on team) for SNHU were junior Kody Gagnon (Tolland, Conn.), 28th in 27:22.6 and senior J T Gulick (Norwalk, Conn.), 34th overall in 27:37.9.
NOTES
- Also competing for the Penmen were freshman Zak Laverdiere (Seekonk, Mass.), who ran 27:39.2, and senior Liam Walker (Attleboro, Mass.), who ran a PR with 28:40.5
- Logan improved his performance over four tries at the NE10 Championships from 73rd place (2017) to 44th place (2019) to 18th place (2021) to 3rd place (2022). His mark of 25:03.1 ranks as the 7th-fastest in program history.
- As expected, the race was competitive with Southern Connecticut (43) edging Franklin Pierce (60) for the title. AIC finished third with 65 points.
- Jonathan Volpe, who runs for the champion Owls, won the race in 24:39.3. Wondu Summa of Franklin Pierce was second at 24:54.2.
- The Penmen ran to a top-four finish for the fourth time in program history, and for the first time since 2018.
- SNHU finished ahead of Saint Anselm College (8th place) to earn two Queen City Cup points for the Penmen.

- The Penmen will race at the NCAA East Regional Championships on Saturday Nov. 19 at Bethpage, N.Y.
