(Worcester, Mass.) --- Despite a pair of third period power play goals, the Southern New Hampshire men's hockey team was not able to dig out of an early deficit in Friday night's 5-2 loss over NE10 foe Assumption University at the Worcester Ice Center. The teams play the rubber match of the three-game series on Saturday night in Hooksett.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Five different players scored for the Greyhounds
- Assumption netminder David Altman earned the win stopping 30 shots improving to 8-4-1.
- Senior JT Kossakowski (Elburn, Ill.) did not allow goal in his 26:18 of relief action; he stopped seven shots; he did not factor in the decision.
- Junior George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) led the way for SNHU with a power play goal and an assist.
- Senior Jake Cox (Columbus, Ga.) tallied a power play goal and had five shots on goal.
KEY MOMENTS
- Assumption potted five goals over the first two periods and held a 25-13 shot advantage during that time.
- SNHU held the Greyhounds scoreless over the final 28:17 and scored two goals during that time frame.
