Kossakowski Stops Season-High 38 Shots in 9-1 Setback at Saint Michael's

(South Burlington, Vt.)  --- St. Michael's rushed out of the gate scoring nine goals in the first 30 minutes of the game to cruise to a 9-1 win over the Southern New Hampshire University hockey team on Friday evening at Cairns Arena in South Burlington, Vt.

  • Saint Michael's potted five goals including four on the power play in the opening stanza. The dagger coming at 19:58 of the first.
  • The Purple Knights continued to pour it on with four even-strength goals in the first half of the second period.
  • SNHU held the Purple Knights scoreless over the finals 30:42 and scored its only goal at 10:01 of the second frame.

  • Saint Michael's also held a decisive 60-27 edge in faceoffs.

  • The Penmen and Purple Knights will play the rubber match of this year's season series on Saturday as SNHU captured a 3-2 win in Hooksett on Dec. 3.
  • The loss is just the second NE10 setback of the season for the Penmen and break a three-game winning streak for SNHU.
