George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) scored at 3:09 of overtime to lift SNHU to a 5-4 win at Saint Michael's College on Saturday, giving the Penmen a split of the weekend set at Cairns Arena.

KEY MOMENTS
- Cox pulled the puck off the boards, and fed Thurston, who's 15th goal of the season beat the goalie glove side for the win.
- For the second consecutive game, the Penmen fell behind early. A goal by Amante at 13:33 of the first of the first period cut the Purple Knights lead to 2-1, giving SNHU some momentum.
- Quigley tied the game at 2-2 at 9:11 of the second period, taking a pass from freshman Ryan Clear (Cherry Hill, N.J.) after Saint Michael's failed to clear.
- The Penmen again found an equalizer at 3-3 on a power-play goal by Heisse, who converted off a face-off win by freshman Jack Gray (Lowell, Mass.).
- Monreal made it 4-3 SNHU at 18:49 of the second period with a one-timer from the left circle.
- The teams skated most the third period at 4-4 after a power-play goal by Saint Michael's Zach Taylor at :31.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Penmen held a 44-43 advantage on shots on goal.
- Saint Michael's held a significant advantage on face-offs for a second consecutive game...winning 49 of 80 for the game.
- SNHU went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Purple Knights were 2-for-4.
- Senior netminder Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.) stopped 39 shots and improved to 9-1 on the season with the win.
NOTES
- Thurston is tied for the NE10 lead with 15 goals and is second with 25 points. Cox ranks third with 24 points.
- Amante scored in both games in the series. He also scored the game winner with 17 seconds remaining in SNHU's win over Saint Michael's College at home on December 3.
- The Penmen win the season series with the Purple Knights 2-1. SNHU is 26-44-6 all-time against Saint Michael's College.
- SNHU can claim the Northeast-10 regular season crown with a win in its games with Assumption next weekend. The regular-season champ, and top seed, would earn a bye into the semifinals.
