Cristian Mercedes (Providence, R.I.) homered and drove in two runs as #12 SNHU finished off a four-game sweep of NE10 rival Stonehill College 7-5 on Sunday. Redshirt sophomore
Parker Hansen (Granby, Conn.), in his first career start, worked five innings for the win.

- Sophomore Trevor Anibal (Bedford, N.H.) - save, 2.2 innings of scoreless relief
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Penmen took control early, scoring five times in the bottom of the second inning. Three walks filled the bases for O'Sullivan's double and a 2-0 lead. Taveras singled in a run, and O'Sullivan scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-0. Mercedes added a sacrifice fly to drive in Taveras.
- SNHU added a third inning run on a wild pitch, and Mercedes homered in the fourth to make it 7-0.
- The Skyhawks got back in the game with a grand-slam homer in the top of the fifth by Matt Farragher.
- Stonehill cut the lead to 7-5 in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Blaine Lidsky.
- Anibal came out of the bullpen, and recorded the final eight outs without allowing a run to preserve the 7-5 win.
NOTES
- Mercedes hit his second home run of the season.
- Redshirt sophomore Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, N.Y.) had a solid series with six hits in nine AB. He also walked five times, homered and drove in three runs.
- Senior Dakota Mulcay (Goffstown, N.H.) went 5-for-11 in the series with four walks and five runs scored in the series.
- Anibal helped lead a pitching staff that allowed just nine runs in the four games. He improves to 2-0, 0.51 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 17.2 innings pitched.
- The Penmen are 38-41-1 all-time against Stonehill. SNHU has won the last nine, and 11 of the last 12 games between the schools.
