Renaud's Career Day Lifts Women's Lacrosse Past American International

The junior netted seven goals including five-straight in the third

Hooksett, N.H. – Junior Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored a career-high seven goals including five-straight in the third quarter to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team to a 20-10 win over American International College on Wednesday afternoon at Penmen Stadium. The Penmen have now won three straight.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS  KEY MOMENTS 
  • Over the first five minutes the teams traded punches each scored on their opening possession. The Penmen took control with four-straight goals to end the quarter including back-to-back goals by Courtney Cronin (Woburn, Mass.) just 93 seconds apart to send to the break 5-1.
  • SNHU continued its blitz scoring three more to open the second quarter and push the lead to 8-1 with 7:15 left in the frame. However, the Yellow Jackets fought back by scoring three in a run to make it 8-4 and after a goal by Keating to make it 9-4 it was AIC that netted the final two goals of the half to narrow the lead to 9-6. The run was capped off by a Molly Leavitt goal with just 2.6 left in the second quarter.
  • The Penmen came out of the locker room on fire as Crowther scored just over a minute into the second half.
  • Renaud then went to work scored the game's next five goals to erase any doubt. The five goals game in just under a seven-minute span and included three unassisted tallies.
  • Cole would break up Renaud's streak with a tally of her own before Graziano rattled off the game's next three goals to extend the lead to 19-6 early in the fourth quarter.
  • AIC would score four of the game's final five goals to close out scoring at 20-10.

  • SNHU had a 33-21 shot advantage.
  • Each team had 14 ground balls
  • The Penmen were a perfect 15-15 in clear attempts
  • SNHU held a 19-14 edge in draw controls.
  • In addition to Ashford, Caela McCartney (23:30, 5 saves, 3 GA) and Megan Petko (6:30, 0 saves, 1 GA) each saw action in the cage for the Penmen.
NOTES 
  • First 20-goal performance by the Penmen since Feb. 29, 2020 against Dominican (24).
  • Renaud's seven goals are the most in a game by an SNHU player since Kristin Wilder had 8 against St. Michael's on April 17, 2019.
  • Renaud has scored in every game this season, including eight multi-goal games.
  • Cole who has a team-best 32 goals has also scored in all 10 games with eight multi-goal games.
  • The Penmen were receiving votes in the most recent IWLCA Coaches' Poll.
  • SNHU is currently in fourth place in the NE10 standings after eight games play.
WHAT'S NEXT 
The Penmen return to action on Saturday (April 16) at 1 p.m. at #21 New Haven. SNHU will be back home on Tuesday (April 19) at 4 p.m. to play host to NE10 foe St. Michael's College. The game will be senior night for the Penmen.
