Shelby Cole Tallies Three Goals, But Penmen Fall On Road To #18 Assumption

#24 SNHU Sees Win Streak Snapped at Five Games

Records: #24 SNHU 9-4 (7-4 NE10),  Assumption 9-6 (7-4 NE10)

Worcester, Mass. – Sophomore Shelby Cole (Gilford, N.H.) scored three times, but #24 Southern New Hampshire could not overcome a slow start, falling 17-6 at #18 Assumption University Saturday in Worcester.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS  KEY MOMENTS 
  • On Senior Day in Worcester, the host Greyhounds scored the first 11 goals of the game before Renaud tallied with 6:34 to go in the first half.  Cole and Delucia followed with goals to cut the Assumption lead to 11-3.
  • Cole completed her hat trick with an unassisted goal with 5:53 to play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Assumption had a 31-16 advantage on shots, and a 22-11 edge on shots on goal.  The Greyhounds also won 16 draw controls to 10 for the Penmen.  
  • Renaud and junior Marissa DeLucia (Topsfield, Mass.) led SNHU with four ground balls apiece.
NOTES 
  • The Penmen had won five straight for the first time since they won five in-a-row March 9-23, 2013.
  • Renaud continued her string of having scored a goal in each of SNHU's 13 games this season.  Her four ground balls matched a season-high.
  • SNHU is currently tied for fifth place in the NE10 with Assumption.  
  • The all-time series with Assumption stands at 11-9 in favor of the Penmen, although the Greyhounds have won six straight.
WHAT'S NEXT 
  • SNHU will play at NE10-leading Stonehill College on Wednesday night.  The final home game of the regular season will come on Saturday, April 30 at 2:00 p.m. against Le Moyne College.
