Ryan Auger (Derry, N.H.) led the Penmen with a goal and two assists, but SNHU saw its season come to an end with an 18-6 loss to #15 Saint Anselm College Saturday in the Northeast-10 Championship Quarterfinals at Grappone Stadium Saturday. The Penmen finish the season with a 7-6 record.

- Junior Gennaro Marra (Derry, N.H.) - 12 ground balls, 16-for-26 on faceoffs
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks took control of the game early, opening a 5-0 lead by the end of the first quarter. Noah Larsen had two of the goals for Saint Anselm.
- The Penmen finally tallied with 4:58 left in the half on Fleming's man-up goal, assisted by Auger. The Hawks answered with two more goals and a 10-1 halftime lead.
- Valentine scored his goal at 10:17 of the third quarter, assisted by senior Tristan Pietz (Dudley, Mass.)
- SNHU found a little offense late with goals by McCuin, Auger, Marra, and Fleming
NOTES
- The Penmen finish the season at 7-6. SNHU's Head Coach Paul Calkins has amassed 168 wins over 34 seasons.
- Marra finished the season with 160 ground balls, and his 290 ground balls for a career are a new Penmen record. He went 231-for-351 (.658) on face-offs.
- Valentine had 30 goals this season, giving him 82 for his career.
- Newcomer Ryan Auger was the top scorer on the Penmen with 48 points (22 goals, 26 assists).
- It was the first post-season loss to Saint Anselm. The Hawks have won eight straight in the series, including both meetings this season. Saint Anselm leads the all-time series 24-12.
PLAYOFFS
- #5 Bentley won 7-3 over #4 Pace in Saturday's other quarterfinal.
- Wednesday, May 4, Bentley will travel to #1 Adelphi in one NE10 semifinal. Saint Anselm heads to Syracuse to take on #2 Le Moyne, the defending national champions.
