STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Graduate student Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) – 5 saves
KEY MOMENTS
  • With more than 21 minutes remaining and the match stuck in a scoreless draw, a loose ball inside the box came out to Perez-Acosta on the left, outside the top of the box. She took a touch to her left and sent a shot back across towards the right, where an SNHU defender stuck her foot out to try to block it, but only got a piece of it, deflecting it back against Rose's movement and into the empty left side of the net.
  • SNHU's best scoring chance came in the 77th minute with the Penmen on a rush on the left wing. Freshman Imogen Noon (Gold Coast, Australia) took her space and sent a well-placed shot toward the lower-left corner of the net, but Franklin Pierce goalkeeper Gabby Calidonio was able to dive and grab it.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Rose stopped five of the six shots she faced.
  • Franklin Pierce 'keeper Emilie Fox started and made one save over the opening 45 minutes, while Calidonio stopped a pair of shots in the second half.
  • FPU outshot SNHU, 13-9, including 6-3 in shots on target.
  • The Ravens also held a 4-2 edge in corner kicks.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked eighth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll, suffers its first defeat since Nov. 18 of last season – also a 1-0 decision – against Mercy College in the NCAA East Regional.
