#8 Women's Soccer Falls 2-1 at Adelphi

Junior Nida Orloff (Leicester, Mass.) scored in the 61st minute, but 8-th ranked Southern New Hampshire fell at Adelphi 2-1 on Saturday afternoon in Garden City, N.Y.

KEY MOMENTS 
  • Adelphi controlled the action early, scoring the game's first goal in the 13th minute with Gia Mandile scoring off a cross to make it 1-0.
  • The Panthers added a second tally before the end of the first half on a goal by Victoria Colatosti.
  • SNHU's best scoring chance came in the 61st minute when Wessner fed Orloff for the goal to make it 2-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Graduate student Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ont.) stopped six shots for SNHU.
  • Adelphi outshot SNHU, 14-6, including 8-1 in shots on target.
  • The Panthers  also held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks.
NOTES 
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked eighth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll, suffers its second defeat of the week.
  • The goal for Orloff was her team-leading fourth.  Her 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists) also is tops for the Penmen.
  • Adelphi has won the last five meetings between the teams in Garden City.
  • For the season, SNHU still owns a 15-4 scoring advantage and a 102-54 margin in shots.
  • The Penmen are now 43-15-8 (.717) over their last 66 matches dating back to the start of the 2017 campaign.
