Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Tie with Saint Michael's

Graduate student Hannah Rose (Waterloo, Ontario) made three saves, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team finished in a scoreless draw with Saint Michael's College on Wednesday evening at Penmen Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS 
  • SNHU's most dangerous chance came in the 23rd minute when senior Allison Beaumont (Milton, Ontario) went in on a breakaway, but her shot was stopped by Saint Michael's goalkeeper Katie Escobedo.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
  • Escobedo turned away all seven shots she faced.
  • SNHU outshot SMC, 15-3, including 8-1 in the second half.
  • The Penmen also held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
NOTES 
  • Southern New Hampshire, receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Poll, plays in its first tie since Oct. 5, 2021 against Mercy College (1-1).
  • SNHU still leads the all-time series with Saint Michael's, 28-8-3. The Penmen are unbeaten in 10 of the last 11 meetings, including seven-in-a-row. The tie did snap a six-match winning streak, during which Southern New Hampshire was outscoring the Purple Knights, 14-2. The Penmen also have a shutout streak of 468:21 against SMC, which dates back to Oct. 18, 2016 and stretches over five full matches. SNHU is outscoring the Purple Knights, 10-0, during that span.
  • Rose's shutout is her third of the season and the 15th of her career.
