Men's Soccer Handles Alliance 3-0 in Saturday Road Tilt

Senior Michael Garcia (New Bedford, Mass.) and junior Luca Shubitidze (Leipzig, Germany) scored first-half goals as SNHU handled Alliance University 3-0 in a non-conference contest played on Saturday.
 

KEY MOMENTS
  • Shubitdze scored the game's first goal on a penalty shot and Garcia followed several minutes later to make it 2-0.
  • The Penmen also scored in the second half by freshman Phillipp Hermann (Bruckmuehl, Germany).  Shubitdze had the assist on the goal.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Penmen outshot Alliance 30-3, including 12-1 in shots on target.
  • SNHU had a 10-0 advantage on corner kicks.
NOTES
  • Nyack University rebranded as Alliance University for this school year. 
  • It was the first meeting between the programs since 2007, when the teams played to a 1-1 tie.  SNHU leads the all-time series 2-1-1.
  • SNHU moves to 118-27-17 (.785) over its last 162 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season.

  • The Penmen play on Wed. Sept. 28 (3:30 p.m.) at Saint Michael's College.
