Men's Tennis Makes it 2-0 with 6-1 Win Over Eastern Nazarene

Sophomore Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) won both of his matches, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team scored a 6-1 victory versus Eastern Nazarene College on Thursday night under the lights at the Penmen Stadium Tennis Courts.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Nadeau cruised to a 6-0, 6-3 win against Diego Torres at No. 2 singles and also eked out a 7-6 (7-2) No. 2 doubles victory with sophomore Jeremie Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.), downing Carlos Sanchez and Diego Rodriguez.
  • Graduate student Fernando Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) moved up to No. 1 singles with sophomore Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway), having just won ITA East Regional Championship singles and doubles titles, being rested. Torres breezed by Luis Hernandez, 6-2, 6-2. Berling and Torres, fresh off a repeat of their ITA East Regional Championship doubles crowns, were victorious at No. 1 doubles, 6-1, against Avelino Parrondo and Vittal Harith.
  • Grad student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, Netherlands) outlasted Rodriguez, 4-6, 6-2, 11-9, at No. 3 singles.
  • Senior Zachary Duboulay (Castries, St. Lucia) rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 victory against Sanchez at No. 4 singles.
  • Junior Sam Goddard (Amherst, N.H.) was a 6-0, 6-4 winner against Parrondo at No. 5 singles. He also combined with freshman Phillipp Roeder (Augsburg, Germany) for 6-4 No. 3 doubles win over Hernandez and Iker Rodriguez.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire is 2-0 for the second straight year and seventh time in the past eight seasons.
  • This was the first all-time meeting between the two teams.
