Jackson Aldrich (Waterville, Maine) tied the game with his first goal of the season, but SNHU fell 6-5 in overtime at Post University Friday in Shelton, Conn.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen fell into a big hole early with the host Eagles scoring three times in the first period for a 3-0 lead. Michael Gethings opened the scoring at 8:37. Nick Weber added goals for Post at 14:22 and 18:28.
- Coady scored off a rebound of a shot by Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) at 12:35 of the second period to put the Penmen on the board and start the comeback. Sophomore Connor Ball (Webster, N.Y.) also assisted in the play.
- A power-play goal by Nick Brewer made it 4-1 Eagles, but SNHU responded with a pair of quick goals to cut the deficit to 4-3.
- Coady's second goal, at 15:23, came off a feed from freshman Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.) with Thurston adding an assist.
- The Penmen drew within a goal at 18:11 when freshman Joe Cantelmo (Saratoga, Calif.) connected on the power-play from junior Derek Flynn (Dracut, Mass.) and freshman Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ont.).
- SNHU took advantage of a five-minute power play to tie the game 2:58 of the third period when senior Matt Monreal (Wauwatosa, Wis.) ripped a slap shot home. Sophomore Tucker Twardosky (Merrimack, N.H.) dished out the pass that led to the goal.
- Post collected its fourth power-play goal of the night at 12:40 when Lukas Baksay beat sophomore goalie Cam Bernard (Bedford, N.H.) for a 5-4 lead.
- Aldrich tied the game at 5-5, the beneficiary of good work by senior Andrew Ray (Cumberland, Maine) to work the puck into the Eagle zone with just 5:02 remaining.
- Weber completed his hat trick off a rebound at 3:13 of the extra period to give Post the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SNHU had a 39-33 advantage on shots on goal.
- SNHU went 2-for-4 with a man advantage – the Eagles were 4-for-4.
NOTES
- Coady now has five goals on the season. Monreal, Aldrich, and Cantelmo all scored for the first time in 22-23. Cantelmo, a freshman, notched his first career goal. Twardosky's assist was his first point of the season, and second of his career.
- Bernard came on to start the second period, and had a strong outing to give the Penmen an opportunity to win the game after falling behind 3-0.
- Post now leads the season series with the Penmen 2-1 after the team split in Hooksett in November. SNHU leads the all-time series 13-5.
- SNHU is 0-2 in overtime games this season.
