Matt Monreal (Wauwatosa, Wis.) scored on the power-play to cap a four-goal second period to lead SNHU to a 4-3 win over Post in Northeast-10 ice hockey action Saturday at the Sports Center of Connecticut.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen trailed 2-0 entering the second period, but Houle connected on a wrist shot at 47 seconds of the second period to make it 2-1. Gray made the pass that led to the SNHU goal.
- Less than two minutes later, Thurston tied the game with a power-play goal from junior Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.) and Gray.
- The Penmen had the lead for the first time at 6:47 in another man-advantage situation. Lynch buried a deep wrist shot to make it 3-2. Senior Tim Usalis (Danvers, Mass.) had the assist.
- Niko Grollman drew the Eagles even at 10:22 of the second period.
- The game-winner, SNHU's third power-play goal of the game, was scored by Monreal. He skated into the Eagle zone and back-handed the puck past Post goalie Benjamin Cunneen.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SNHU had 35 shots on goal to 25 for Post.
- SNHU went 3-for-7 with a man advantage – the Eagles were 3-for-6.
NOTES
- The Penmen snapped a six-game losing streak. SNHU had not won since defeating Saint Anselm College 3-0 on December 2.
- Houle picked up his first career goal.
- Thurston leads the Northeast-10 conference with eight power-play goals. He has 20 for his career.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with the Eagles 14-5 with each team winning twice this season. The Penmen earned seven points (two regulation wins, one overtime loss) to five points for Post (one regulation win, one overtime win).
WHAT'S NEXT
- The Penmen will be back home next Friday and Saturday to take on Saint Michael's College. Friday's game will be at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, SNHU will contest at The Ice Den in Hooksett, N.H. will be Friday, January 27 at 7:30 p.m. against Saint Michael's College.
