Jack Gray (Lowell, Mass.) buried a rebound for his first goal of the season, but Saint Michael's completed a sweep of the Penmen with a 5-1 win on Saturday at The Ice Den Arena in Hooksett.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen took a 1-0 lead at 10:31 of the first period. Usalis sent a puck out of the SNHU zone to Ray, whose shot was saved. Gray's slap shot found the net.
- Saint Michael's tied the game with less than a second to play in the first period on a blast from Paulius Macijauskas.
- A four-goal second period helped lift the Purple Knights to the win with Brennan McFarland and Zach Taylor each potting a pair of goals.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- SNHU had a 43-39 shot advantage for the game.
- There were no penalties in the first two periods. The Penmen failed on both man-up opportunities in the third period while the Purple Knights did not have a power-play opportunity.
- SNHU played all three of its goaltenders in the contest, graduate student Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.), sophomore Cam Bernard (Bedford, N.H.), and freshman Nathan Loisel (Blainville, Quebec.
- Loisel stopped all seven shots he faced in the third period while playing in his second game.
- Marshall Murphy stopped 42 shots to earn his second win of the weekend for Saint Michael's.
- Gray's goal was his first of the season. He tallied seven times in 38 games as a freshman last season.
NOTES
- Saint Michael's wins the season series with the Penmen 3-1 and have now won seven of the last 10 with SNHU. The all-time series stands at 47-27-6 in favor of the Purple Knights.

- The Penmen will take on Franklin Pierce University in a pair of NE10 games next Friday and Saturday. Friday's game (2/3) is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start. The teams will also play Saturday (2/4) at 3:10 p.m. at The Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, N.H.
