Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.) tied the game with his fifth goal of the season late in the first period, but Saint Anselm used a decisive second period to pull away for a 6-1 win over the Penmen on Friday night at The Ice Den.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Hawks opened the scoring at 12:41 of the first period when Hunter Brackett beat SNHU graduate student goaltender Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.) on the glove side with a slap shot.
- Amante tied the game at 18:22, cleaning up a scrum in front of winning goalie Nick Howard. Thurston and Cantelmo had the assists.
- Saint Anselm's game-winning goal came at 5:22 of the second period. Chase Reynolds converted a short-handed opportunity. The Hawks then added two goals, 34 seconds apart in the final minute of the period to take a 4-1 lead.
- Saint Anselm's Luke Linart tallied the second short-handed goal of the night for the Hawks midway through the final period.
