Junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) went 2-0 and clinched the victory with a win at No. 3 singles, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team cruised to a 6-1 triumph over Post University on Sunday afternoon at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Nadeau took down Dante Despontin, 6-4, 6-1, at No. 3 singles. He also teamed with senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) to squeak out a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles against Anton Andersson and Niklas Langenfeld.
- Den Hartog made quick work of Ivan Kolchanov, 6-1, 6-0, at No 2 singles.
- Junior Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) downed Gustavo Kerber, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 1 singles. He also combined with graduate student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, Netherlands) to double-up Josh Cronje and Kerber, 6-3, at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point.
- Ouwejan was leading Langenfeld, 7-5, 4-0, at No. 5 singles when Langenfeld retired.
- Sophomore Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany) was a 6-3, 6-0 winner at No. 6 singles against Jose Nunez.
NOTES
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Post, 7-1, with the Penmen winning four straight. SNHU also remains perfect at home against the Eagles at 4-0, though this was the first meeting between the two teams at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
