Freshman Nadia Alden (Edmond, Okla.) clinched the match with a three-set win at No. 6 singles, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team won their third straight with a 5-2 victory against Post University on Sunday at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Alden pulled out a 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 win against Julia D'Occhio at No. 6 singles.
- Sophomore Alina Kupfer (Baldham, Germany) defeated Annunciata De-Souza, 6-3, 6-4, at No. 1 singles and also teamed with graduate student Verena Weindl (Munich, Germany) for a 6-0 blanking of Megan Lombardt and De-Souza at No. 1 doubles.
- Weindl was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Micaela Rosignuolo at No. 2 singles.
- Freshman Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) rallied for a 6-7 (0-7), 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 3 singles against Oceane Mallevre.
- Freshman Nadya Lyekontseva (Kyiv, Ukraine) took down Lombardt, 6-3, 7-5, at No. 4 singles.
NOTES
- The Penmen lead the all-time series with Post, 5-2, though the teams have now split the last four meetings. SNHU also improves to 4-1 at home against the Eagles.
