Junior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) finished 15th overall to lead SNHU to a fifth-place finish at Friday's Bruce Kirsh at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Sylvester finished up in 26:12.21.
- Freshman Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) wound up in 21st place with a time of 26:34.38.
- Sophomore Zak Laverdiere (Seekonk, Mass.) finished 23rd in 26:50.49.
- Freshman Brett Trainor (North Chelmsford, Mass.) ran a new PR, finishing 31st in 27:25.41.
- Also scoring for the Penmen was senior Kody Gagnon (Tolland, Conn.).
NOTES
- This was the 11th running of the Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup, hosted by Franklin Pierce University.
- Merrimack College (30) edged out Franklin Pierce (36) for the team title. Saint Michael's College (101) finished third, just ahead of Adelphi University (102).
- Franklin Pierce runner Wondu Summa won the Bruce Kirsh for a second consecutive season with a time of 25:07.38.
- The NCAA East Region Championship will be conducted on the Hopkinton Fairgrounds Course on Saturday, November 4.
