Bentley University scored just 53 seconds into the second half, as it edged the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team, 1-0, Saturday at the Bentley Soccer Field.
KEY MOMENTS
  • With the match mired in a scoreless deadlock, Bentley jumped on the board late in the 46th minute on an Antonio Santos goal.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Sophomore Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) made two saves.
  • Bentley 'keeper Joe Griffin stopped both shots he faced in the first half, while Nick Maldarella made all three saves in the second stanza.
  • Shots were even at 8-all, while SNHU held a 5-3 edge in shots on target.
  • The Penmen also owned an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, which is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25 Poll, had its three-match unbeaten streak (2-0-1) snapped.
  • Southern New Hampshire leads the all-time series with Bentley, 31-4-6, but the Falcons halted the Penmen unbeaten streak at 10 (9-0-1). Bentley's previous win in the series came Oct. 9, 2012 (1-0) in Waltham. SNHU had won four straight on the road against Bentley.
  • SNHU is now 128-33-23 (.758) over its last 184 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season.
