Late Goals by Schofied, Anderson Lead to Near Upset

Sophomore Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass.) and senior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) scored goals as SNHU Women's Soccer handed #3 Saint Rose its first blemish in a 2-2 tie Saturday afternoon in Albany.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Saint Rose scored just 4:24 into the game on a goal by Brielle Zink, who scored off a corner kick by Elina Seppala.
  • The Penmen drew even in the 80th minute when Schofield took a deep feed from graduate student Victoria Roulston (East Falmouth, Mass.), dribbled in front, and beat the Saint Rose goalie to make it 1-1.
  • SNHU scored again in the 87th minute to take a 2-1 lead on a goal by Anderson, who's blast found the upper right corner of the net.
  • The Golden Knights drew back to even off a corner with 1:04 to go when Olivia Boucher scored off the feed from Seppala.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Saint Rose had a 15-7 shot advantage, although the Penmen had a 7-5 advantage shots on goal.
  • The Golden Knights had a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks.
NOTES
  • Anderson scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
  • Schofield followed up the hat trick last Saturday with her fourth goal of the season.
  • Saint Rose remains unbeaten in its last 31 regular season games dating back to 10/30/21. 
  • This is the second consecutive regular-season tie between the teams, although the Penmen fell at Saint Rose in last year's Northeast-10 Quarterfinals. 
  • The Golden Knights lead the all-time series 15-9 with seven ties.
  • The Penmen are now 48-22-17 (.649) over their last 87 matches dating back to the start of the 2017 campaign.
