- The Chargers opened the scoring at 7:55 when Abby Nixon cleaned up a rebound.
- New Haven went 2-0 early in the third quarter on a goal by Eliza Cavan.
- The Penmen cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by Bates. The Chargers were able to stop two shots by Christis, but Bates was in perfect position to score of the second shot.
- SNHU tied the game at 2-2 just 1:23 into the fourth period when Wiersma scored off a penalty corner from Christis.
- New Haven's Kat Trammel scored the game-winning goal at 50:59 and added an empty net tally in the closing seconds.
