Penmen Open Weekend With 6-2 Win at Franklin Pierce

Junior Jack Gray (Lowell, Mass.) and sophomore Kurt Watson (London, Ont.) each scored twice as Ice Hockey earned a 6-2 win at Franklin Pierce on Friday night.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Gray gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead with 11:45 left in the first period when he took a pass from Watson from behind the end line and scored on a slap shot.
  • Watson was next, scoring off a carom to make it 2-0.
  • Gray extended the lead to 3-0 just 4:27 into the second period.  He received a perfect pass from Watson on the near side and skated it to finish the play.
  • After a Raven goal by Jackson Dobek, Watson scored again just 24 seconds later off a pass from sophomore Jim Minnig (Auburn, Pa.).
  • Amante extended the Penmen lead to 5-2 with a goal just 33 seconds into the third period from freshman Stone Devlin (W. Falmouth, Mass.).
  • Ball potted an empty netter in the closing seconds.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • SNHU had a 40-21 shot advantage.
  • The Penmen were 0-for-5 on the power play while the Ravens were 0-2.
NOTES
  • Berke earned his first career win in just his second start of the season.
  • Gray scored twice in a game for the first time in his collegiate career.
  • The Penmen lead the all-time series with the Ravens 37-18-9.

  • The Penmen will play at Franklin Pierce on Saturday (5:30 p.m.).
