Franklin Pierce bounced back with a 5-0 win over Southern New Hampshire hockey Saturday to earn a split of the NE10 series.

KEY MOMENTS

  • Franklin Pierce took a 1-0 lead just after a power-play 11:31 of the first period.  An exchange of passes led the puck to sophomore Matt Horan for a shot that beat SNHU freshman goalie Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.).
  • The Ravens made it 2-0 at 2:35 of the second, winning a face-off in the Penmen zone.  Nick Tessier potted a rebound for the Franklin Pierce goal.
  • SNHU, which has struggled with its power-play, found a two-man advantage midway through the second period, but did not score.
  • Franklin Pierce responded to take a 3-0 lead.  A nice pass from behind the net from Tessier gave Cody Rumsey the scoring chance.
  • An empty net goal by Dimitris Christou and a late goal by Trevor Lawler finished the scoring for the Ravens.
  • Jeremy Connor made 39 saves for Franklin Pierce.
