STANDOUT PERFORMERS

  • Grad student Alex Rivera (Lowell, Mass.) – 14 points (5-16 FG, 3-9 3-FG, 1-2 FT), 6 rebounds, 4 assists

KEY MOMENTS
  • After Bentley scored the first basket of the game nearly three minutes in, Southern New Hampshire ripped off a 17-2 run – with 11 points from Rivera, who canned a trio of 3-pointers during the stretch – to open a 17-4 advantage with 11:16 remaining. Bentley would score 20 of the next 31 to trim its deficit to 28-24 with less than two minutes to go in the first half, but the Penmen would add the final three to bring a 31-24 lead into the break.
  • The Falcons scored the first six coming out of the locker room to cut it to one, but would never take the lead. Back-to-back 3-pointers from junior Kurtis Henderson (Brockton, Mass.) and Becht would push the Penmen advantage to eight at 44-36 with 13:54 remaining, but seven straight over the next two-and-a-half minutes again slashed the Bentley deficit to one. The Falcons would get within one on three more occasions over the final 4:03, but a Becht triple with 1:34 on the clock made it 61-57 and sparked a game-closing 6-0 run that included a huge put-back by Greene.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Junior Jordan Brathwaite (Silver Spring, Md.) posted six points (3-6 FG), a season-high 10 rebounds and a pair of blocks.
