Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) scored 17 points, but the second-seeded Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team saw its season come to a close with a 62-49 defeat against third-seeded and No. 19/22 Thomas Jefferson University in the NCAA East Regional Championship semifinals on Saturday evening at Assumption University's Laska Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Jefferson led, 10-4, nearly six minutes in when Southern New Hampshire scored eight of the final 11 points of the opening quarter – highlighted by two Timberlake 3-pointers – to pull within 13-12.
- The Rams scored the first six points of the second stanza to widen the gap to 19-12 less than a minute in. After back-to-back Knight buckets made it a three-point-game, two straight Jefferson treys gave it the largest lead of the half at 25-16 with 5:13 to go. SNHU would trim the deficit to five with 1:30 left, but the Rams would bring a 29-22 lead to the break.
- Jefferson opened the second half with six straight points, as part of an 11-3 run that made it 40-25 less than four-and-a-half minutes in. The Penmen countered with a 16-3 rush over the final 5:23 to climb within a pair at 43-41. Knight led the way with 11 points to power the stretch.
- Jefferson took advantage of Timberlake needing to come out of the game with her fourth foul just 1:11 into the final frame, going on an 11-2 run to extend its lead to 60-47 with 2:14 on the clock.

- Senior Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) recorded seven points (3-10 FG, 1-3 3-FG), seven rebounds and three assists.
- Senior Ariana Koivisto (Pomfret, Conn.) posted six points (3-12 FG) and three rebounds.
- Sophomore Sydnie DeVries (Monson, Mass.) tallied four points (2-6 FG), a career-high 13 boards and a pair of assists.
- Junior Julia Colby (So. Paris, Maine) chipped in two points (1-6 FG), two rebounds, two assists and two steals.
- Freshman Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) added three rebounds and two assists.
- Freshman Hailey Sherrick (Braintree, Mass.) scored three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3-FG) – her first points of the season.
- Jefferson outshot SNHU, 32.1 percent (18-56) to 30.4 percent (21-69), including 41.7 percent (5-12) to 23.5 percent (4-17) from beyond the arc.
- Jefferson was a whopping plus-18 at the line in massive free throw discrepancy, while SNHU did shoot it better, 100 percent (3-3) to 77.8 percent (21-27).
- The Penmen captured the glass (46-42) and the paint (22-16), and scored more second chance points (16-5), while the Rams scored more points off turnovers (13-8) and on the fast break (14-4), received more scoring from their bench (9-7) and submitted a better assist-to-turnover ratio (13/17-13/22).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which had won eight of its last 10 and four of five, finishes the season with 22 victories, matching the program record from 1989-90.
- Jefferson, ranked 19th in the D2SIDA poll and 22nd in the most recent Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll, has won 11 of its last 12, including two-in-a-row.
- The Penmen, making their fourth NCAA Championship tournament appearance, including second straight, dip to 1-4 (.200) all-time in the NCAA postseason.
- Jefferson leads the all-time series, 2-0. This was the first meeting between the two programs since a 70-51 win for the then-Philadelphia Textile School in a neutral site game at the College of Saint Rose on Nov. 22, 1998.
- SNHU is now 43-15 (.741) since the start of the 2021-22 season, including 23-7 (.767) away from home.
