Renaud Scores Seven Goals, Reaches 100 Points in Sunday Win

SNHU improves to 4-0 for first time with 17-10 win at Bloomsburg

(Bloomsburg, Pa.) - Senior Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored seven times and eclipsed 100 points for her career as SNHU women's lacrosse won 17-10 at Bloomsburg Sunday.  The Penmen are off to a 4-0 start for the first time in program history.

  • Senior Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) – 3 goals, 3 assists, 2 ground balls

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
  • Pietz gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead with a free position goal at 2:21 of the first.
  • Cole scored her first of the game in a man-up situation just 25 seconds later.
  • The Huskies scored the next three goals to take a 3-2 lead, but Renaud tied the contest, and Graziano put SNHU up 4-3 off an assist from Renaud.
  • Graduate student Katie Crowther (Wrentham, Mass.) beat the horn to put SNHU up 5-3 after the first quarter.
  • The Penmen extended the lead to 9-5 by halftime with Renaud scoring the final two goals of the period.
  • Cole made it 10-5 Penmen just 45 seconds into the third quarter, and Renaud added three more to give SNHU a 13-7 lead turning for home.
  • Renaud's seventh goal, with 3:34 remaining, put SNHU up 17-8.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
 
  • SNHU outshot the Huskies 35-24.
  • DeLucia had five draw controls, and Renaud had four – with the Penmen holding a 16-9 advantage.
  • The Penmen were 12-for-17 on clear attempts, and Bloomsburg was 10-for-19.
  • SNHU had a 25-10 advantage on ground balls.
  • Southern New Hampshire went 4-for-10 on free-position shots and Bloomsburg was 2-for-5.
  • Junior Megan Petko (Monroe, N.Y.) made nine saves to earn the win in goal.
  • Senior Courtney Cronin (Woburn, Mass.) also scored for the Penmen, giving her five goals on the season and she has scored a goal in each of the first four games.
 
NOTES
  • This was the first meeting between SNHU and Bloomsburg.
  • Bloomsburg is receiving votes in the latest ILWomen/Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division II Poll
  • Renaud becomes the third SNHU athlete to eclipse 100 career points in the last two games.  Cole and Graziano also reached that mark in the win at Holy Family on Monday.
  • The Penmen have outscored the first four opponents this season 77-20.

  • The Penmen are scheduled to open the Northeast-10 season at Franklin Pierce University on Wednesday, March 15.  Game time is 2 p.m.
