Graduate student Fernando Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) outlasted his opponent at No. 3 singles to clinch the match, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team blanked Millsaps College, 7-0, Tuesday evening.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Torres pulled out a 7-5, 5-7, 10-6 victory against Carson Chassaignac at No.3 singles.
  • Sophomore Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) toppled Trevor Vaccaro, 6-0, 6-3, at No. 1 singles.
  • Junior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) defeated John Kimball at No. 2 singles, 6-2, 6-3. He also teamed with sophomore Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles against Chassaignac and Jakub Bobinski to clinch the point.
  • Freshman Phillipp Roeder (Augsburg, Germany) scored a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Sam Tuli at No. 4 singles.
  • Junior Sam Goddard (Amherst, N.H.) held off Hamilton Jackson, 5-7, 7-5, 10-3, at No. 5 singles.
  • Senior Zachary Duboulay (Castries, St. Lucia) played a tight match with Kells Hecht at No. 6 singles and prevailed, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5).
  • Senior Noah Dubitzky (Marlborough, Conn.) and sophomore Jeremie Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) combined at No. 3 doubles to take down Kimball and Bobinski, 6-2.
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire has won two of its last three.
  • This was the first meeting between the two programs.
