Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) each won both their matches, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was handed a 5-2 defeat to open NE10 play by Adelphi University on Saturday at the Point Set Racquet Club.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Den Hartog captured a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles over Hugo Munoz Reinose.
- Nadeau outlasted Salomon Arce Lema at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4.
- Den Hartog and Nadeau combined for a 7-6 (7-5) triumph over Thomas Horsley and Thiago Negrao at No. 2 doubles.
NOTES
- Graduate student Fernando Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) lost to Gabriel Balestero, 6-4, 2-6, 6-7 (5-7) at No. 3 singles.
- Graduate student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, The Netherlands) was edged by Viktor Hockl, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (3-7), at No. 5 singles.
- Southern New Hampshire has lost three straight for the first time since March 7-9, 2020.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Adelphi, 10-4. The loss snapped a seven-match winning streak against the Panthers.
