Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, N.Y.) homered and drove in three, including the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning, as the 23rd-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team walked off for the third time in the series to finish off a four-game sweep of Bentley University with a 6-5 victory Sunday afternoon at Penmen Field.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Sophomore Anderson Moreno (Bronx, N.Y.) singled, moved to second on a balk and scored on a two-out single through the right side by Schwartz. Caraher followed by driving one out to center for a two-run home run.
- SNHU made it 4-0 in the second when redshirt-junior Cristian Mercedes (Providence, R.I.) doubled to left-center and later scored on a two-out wild pitch.
- Bentley scratched away with an RBI single from Brian Lindsay in the third and a solo homer from Stan DeMartinis in the fourth to slice the deficit in half at 4-2.
- The Penmen grabbed one back in the bottom of the fifth with a two-out solo blast to center from Schwartz.
- Bentley pulled even with a pair in the top of the ninth, loading the bases with no outs before scoring on a wild pitch and a fielder's choice to make it 5-5.
- SNHU won it in walk-off fashion for the third time in the series, getting leadoff walks in the ninth from sophomore Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) and Moreno, before a perfect sacrifice bunt toward third by freshman Dyrenson Wouters (Oranjestad, Aruba) put a pair in scoring position. Schwartz wasted no time, jumping on the first pitch and sending a sac fly to deep right to plate Vargas Segura with the winning run.

- Sophomore Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) was 1-for-2 with a walk.
- Mercedes went 1-for-3 and scored a run.
- Moreno (run, walk) and junior Mike La Rocca (Vero Beach, Fla.; walk) both finished 1-for-4.
- Junior George Welch (Derry, N.H.) started and allowed two runs on four hits over three-and-a-third innings, while striking out four and walking one.
- Freshman Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.) gave up one run on three hits over two-and-two-thirds innings, while fanning one and walking a batter.
- Freshman Jake Risedorf (Barkhamsted, Conn.) twirled a pair of scoreless frames, striking out two, while allowing two hits and issuing a pair of walks.
- Graduate student Zachary Gitschier (Lowell, Mass.) did not record an out, being charged with two runs on one hit and a pair of walks.
- Junior Griffin Gilbert (Concord, N.H.) earned the win to move to 1-0 on the season. He punched out a pair and walked one in a hitless inning of work, but did allow a pair of inherited runners to score.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, ranked 23rd in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and receiving votes in the Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll, has now won 18-in-a-row.
- Bentley leads the all-time series with SNHU, 41-39, but the Penmen have won 11 of 13, including nine straight.
- SNHU has scored first in 17 of the 18 games during the winning streak, including the last 13-in-a-row. The Penmen have also scored in the first inning in seven of their last nine, including six straight.
- Schwartz' home run was his second in as many days, his eighth of the season and the 17th of his Penmen career.
- Caraher's homer was his fourth of the series, seventh of the year and the 15th of his career.
- Schwartz continues to lead the NE10 in hitting (.420) and RBI (47), while tying for third in home runs (8).
- La Rocca has a hit in 11 of his last 12, including 10-in-a-row.
- The Penmen continue to produce at the plate, having scored 350 runs in 37 games (9.5).
