Brandon White (Simsbury, Conn.) went the distance in game two, as the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team swept a seven-inning Sunday doubleheader from Saint Anselm College at Penmen Field to extend its winning streak to eight games. The Penmen recorded a 12-5 victory in game one and then doubled up the Hawks in game two, 6-3.

KEY MOMENTS – GAME 1
- Southern New Hampshire broke a scoreless tie with a seven-run third. Mercedes was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to break the ice, before junior Mike La Rocca (Vero Beach, Fla.) stroked a two-run single to center to make it 3-0. Schwartz followed with a two-run double to left-center, with RBI base knocks from Caraher and freshman Kyle Lavigne (Bedford, N.H.) bringing the score to 7-0.
- SNHU did the rest of its damage in the fourth with five more runs. Another Caraher RBI single brought home the first run, with a two-run single up the middle from Wouters making it an even 10-0. A run-scoring double to left-center off the bat of sophomore Jorge Burgos (Santo Domingo, D.R.) and a sacrifice fly to deep center by sophomore Harry Vargas Segura (Bronx, N.Y.) extended the lead to 12-0.
- Saint Anselm took advantage of a Penmen fielding error to push across three in the fifth and then scored two on a two-out error in the sixth.

- Caraher (two RBI, two runs, walk) and Lavigne (RBI, run, walk) each were 2-for-2.
- Schwartz was 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs and a double.
- Moreno finished 2-for-4 a run and a walk.
- Wouters (two RBI, run, walk) and Vargas Segura (RBI, run) were both 1-for-2.
- La Rocca went 1-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored and a walk.

- Freshman Frankie DeMaro (Newburgh, N.Y.) struck out four and walked one over a hitless inning-and-a-third.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME 2
- Freshman Jake Pisano (Hamden, Conn.) gave SNHU a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second with a two-out solo shot to left. After Wouters singled and went to second on a passed ball, Mercedes knocked him in with a double down the left field line that made it 2-0.
- The Penmen extended the lead to 5-0 in the third. Junior Danniel Rivera (New Britain, Conn.) led off the frame with a solo homer to right before a bases-loaded walk to Pisano and a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch with Wouters at the plate capped the scoring.
- Mike Borelli grabbed two back for Saint Anselm in the fourth with a two-run home run.
- SNHU added another run in the home half when Rivera led off with a single to left-center, swiped second and went to third on an errant throw by the catcher, and scored on Moreno's sac fly to right.
- The Hawks pushed one across in the seventh on a sac fly and brought the tying run into the on-deck circle, but White was able to get out of the inning.

- Mercedes was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a double.
- Rivera went 2-for-4 with the home run, RBI and two runs scored.

NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire receiving votes in both the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 and Collegiate Baseball Division II Poll, has now won eight-in-a-row.
- SNHU leads, 63-37, in the all-time series with the Hawks. The Penmen have won 32 of the last 35 meetings dating back to 2013, though Saint Anselm has its three wins in the last nine games.
- The Penmen continue to produce at the plate, having scored 237 runs in 27 games (8.8).
- Pisano's home run is his third in his first season with the Penmen, while Rivera's is his third of the year and the 16th of his career.
- Wouters has the longest active hitting streak on the club at seven straight games. Rivera has hit safely in 12 of his last 13, including five straight. Moreno has a six-game hit streak and has a hit in eight of his last nine.
- Welch lowers his ERA to 2.84 and has now struck out 47 in 31-and-two-thirds innings.
- SNHU collects two more points in the Queen City Cup standings, while Saint Anselm still leads, 17-16, in the battle for Manchester supremacy.
