Alyssa DiMauro (Chester, N.H.) knocked in a run with a fifth inning single, but Southern New Hampshire fell 2-1 to Saint Anselm College in the Northeast-10 Championship quarterfinals on Thursday at Garden City, N.Y.

- The Penmen drew a pair of walks in the top of the first inning, but failed to score.
- The Hawks then responded with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning.Â
- Kylie Fitzpatrick doubled home the first run and Sam Wiberg added a sacrifice fly.
- SNHU's only run came across in the top of the fifth inning.
- A pair of singles put runners on the corners and a base hit from DiMauro would score junior Abby Hagerty (Marshfield, Mass.) who pinch ran for Gianna LaSpina (Bellmore, N.Y.) Â who led off the frame with a single. Senior Bryn Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) also had a single in the inning that helped lead to the run.

- Saint Anselm had eight hits in the game, and the Penmen had six.
- Sophomore Gwyn Hammond (Los Angeles, Calif.) started in the circle for SNHU, and junior Leine McKechnie (Passadumkeag, Maine) finished up with 3.2 scoreless
- Junior Haile Hicks picked up her 16th win of the season for the Hawks after allowing six hits and one run in a complete game effort. The junior fanned eight batters in the contest.

- DiMauro, who started all 42 games for the Penmen, finished with a .336 average by going 2-for-4 in the game.
- The all-time series between the schools is tied at 48-48.
- The game was the just the second between the rivals in the NE10 tournament. Saint Anselm won the 2021 meeting.
- Saint Anselm extended its lead to three at 20-17 in the Queen City Cup standings.
- Southern New Hampshire has won at least one tournament game in eight of the last nine tournaments, and have made 12 consecutive appearances in the NE10 Championship.
