Freshman Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) was the top finisher for the SNHU Men's Cross Country team at Sunday's UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Sekyaya finished just ahead of his teammates, junior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) and sophomore Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.).
- Sekyaya was 41st in 25:48.7.
- Sylvester ran new PR for the distance at 25:54.2 while finishing 44th and Labonte was 46th at 25:56.1.
- Senior Kody Gagnon (Tolland. Conn.) ran a new PR with 26:16.5 and finished 63rd.
NOTES
- This was the 50th annual running of the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, billed as the largest on-campus cross country meet in New England.
- Boston University won the race with 42 points, with Division 1 programs Stonehill (79) and UMass Lowell (96) second and third.
- Franklin Pierce runner Wondu Summa won the race for a second consecutive season.with a time of 24:04.8.
- The race was originally scheduled for Saturday, but moved back one day with the passage of Hurricane Lee.
