Senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) won a pair of matches, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was saddled with a 5-2 loss by Adelphi University on Friday at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Den Hartog defeated Casey Recci, 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 2 singles.
- Den Hartog also teamed with junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) to double up Marko Jovanovic and Recci, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.
NOTES
- In the doubles-point clincher, Thomas Horsley and Thiago Negrao outlasted junior Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) and sophomore Melvin Vix (Thionville, France), 7-6 (8-6) at No. 2.
- The Penmen dropped a trio of three-set singles matches.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with the Panthers, 11-5. The Penmen have won eight of the last 10 meetings. This was SNHU's second ever loss to Adelphi at home and the first since March 28, 2010 (9-0).
