Senior Jesse Den Hartog (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and junior Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) each went 2-0, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team defeated Bentley University, 6-1, on Wednesday.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Den Hartog took down Gabe Horwitz at No. 2 singles, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. He and Nadeau also doubled-up Horwitz and Nikolai Pran, 6-3, at No. 1 doubles.
- Nadeau was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Pran at No. 3 singles.
- Junior Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) took care of Max Bonte, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 singles.
- Sophomore Melvin Vix (Thionville, France) outlasted Ansh Chadha, 6-7 (4-7), 7-6 (7-3), 10-8, at No. 4 singles.
- Graduate student Aron Ouwejan (Wervershoof, Netherlands) pulled out a 6-2, 6-7 (9-11), 6-2 win against Christian Duffy at No. 5 singles.
- Sophomore Phillipp Roeder (Aystetten, Germany) made it a clean sweep of singles for the Penmen, coming away victorious at No. 6 versus Diego Ramos, 7-6 (8-6), 6-2.
NOTES
- The all-time series is tied, 15-15, but the Penmen have won 15 of the last 16 meetings, including 12 straight. Bentley's last win in the series came at SNHU on April 15, 2015 (6-3). SNHU has also won six-in-a-row on the road versus the Falcons, last dropping a match to Bentley in Waltham on April 13, 2013 (5-4).
