#6 Field Hockey Wins Fifth Straight, 7-0 Over Saint Michael's

Christis 2 Goals, 4 Assists Lead Penmen Tuesday

Senior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) continued her assault on the SNHU record book with two goals and four assists in a 7-0 win for the sixth-ranked Penmen over Saint Michael's College Tuesday.

  • Christis – 2 goals, 4 assists
  • Sophomore Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) – 2 goals
  • Junior Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) – 2 saves
KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU took a 1-0 lead just 2:11 into the game when van de Poll took a perfect feed through the defense from Christis.
  • Christis scored her two goals within 50 seconds of the second quarter to make it 3-0.
  • An assist from senior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) led van de Poll to her second goal at 26:51 to put SNHU up 4-0 at the half.
  • Goals in the fourth quarter by freshman Natalie Paradzick (Hooksett, N.H.), sophomore Zoe Demers (Manchester, N.H.), and Bates were all off assists by Christis.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The Penmen had a 47-4 shot advantage including 32-2 on goal.
  • SNHU took 20 penalty corners while the Purple Knights had five.
NOTES
  • Christis has now scored two goals in six of the seven SNHU games this season.
  • Her eight-point effort and four assists were career bests.
  • Christis becomes the first SNHU player with 100 points in a career, and she is now the all-time program leader with 37 goals and 31 assists. 
  • Peeters now has three shutouts in 2024 and eight for her career (in 38 starts).
  • The goals by both Paradzick and Demers were the first of their careers.
  • The Penmen lead the all-time series with Saint Michael's 12-6 including six of the last seven.
  • SNHU advanced in the NFHCA Division II poll this week – moving up from a tie for seventh in the rankings to sixth.
