KEY MOMENTS
- Jakich-Kunze led off the scoring for the Penmen late in the 19th minute off of a feed from junior Carly Schofield (Plymouth, Mass).
- Orloff would tally her third goal of the season to put SNHU up by two early in the 25th. The goal came off a long pass from senior Lauren Conti (Schenectady, N.Y.).
- Greene extended Southern New Hampshire's lead with 14 minutes remaining in the contest when she fired a powerful shot between the post and Queens goalie Samantha Hines-Hirsch off of a touch pass from freshman Lauren Fox (Yonkers, N.Y).
- In the 82nd minute, Limbu redirected a pass from Torres into the back of the net to put even more distance between the Penmen and Knights.
- Torres would cap off the scoring for SNHU with 55 seconds remaining in the game. Sophomore Kaylee Castaño (Mission, Texas) had the assist.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Keith made one save in the shutout effort, while Hines-Hirsch stopped 11.
- The Penmen outshot the Knights, 25-7, including 16-1 in shots on target.
- SNHU led in corner kicks, having four to Queens' one.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, ranked No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25, is unbeaten through seven contests for the first time since 2021 (7-0-0), when it started 12-0-1.
- SNHU leads the all-time series with Queens, 2-1, following the win. The teams met last season, but it was the Knights' first visit to play the Penmen since Sept. 18, 2013 – a 2-1 win for the hosts.
- Monteiro improves to 100-51-28 in his 10th season at the helm for the Penmen. The third head coach in program history, he is also the third to reach 100 victories, while ranking second with a .637 winning percentage. Monteiro, who was the head coach at the University of Masachusetts Lowell for 12 seasons, stands at 194-151-58 (.553) in his 22-year career.
- Monteiro joined his alma mater as head coach for the 2014-15 season, with Williams, Monteiro's former teammate, returning to Manchester that same year.
- Limbu and Torres both scored their first career goals for the Penmen.
- Keith earned her fifth shutout of the season.
- The Penmen are now 59-24-20 (.670) over their last 103 matches dating back to the start of the 2017 campaign.
- SNHU is 39-7-9 (.791) at home since the end of the 2016 season, including 30-7-7 (.761) at Ouellette Stadium.
