Wilmington (Del.) University came into Ouellette Stadium on Wednesday afternoon and handed the sixth-ranked Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team a 4-0 defeat on Senior Day.
KEY MOMENTS
- Wilmington broke through late in the 29th minute on a goal from Michiharu Takanashi.
- Takanashi found the back of the net again in the 56th minute, with Mylan Le Baut striking just 34 seconds later to extend the lead to 3-0.
- A Theo Faillon penalty kick goal in the 70th minute capped the scoring.

- Senior Jürgen Huber (Schorfling, Austria) made one save in the opening half, while classmate Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) stopped five of eight shots in the second stanza.
- Wilmington 'keeper Charlie Phillips stopped all six shots he faced.
- Wilmington outshot SNHU, 24-14, including 10-6 in shots on target. It is just the second team this season to outshoot the Penmen.
- The Wildcats also held a 2-1 edge in corner kicks.

- Southern New Hampshire, ranked sixth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25, sees its eight-match winning streak – the program's longest since 2018 – halted.
- Wilmington now leads the all-time series with SNHU, 4-3, and has captured three-in-a-row, including back-to-back meetings at Ouellette Stadium.
- This is the first time SNHU has been shut out since Oct. 28, 2023 in a 1-0 loss at top-ranked Franklin Pierce University. The four goals are the most the Penmen have allowed since Nov. 2, 2022 in a 7-1 defeat against top-ranked FPU. SNHU entered the matching having allowed only six goals all season.
- SNHU is 141-39-24 (.750) over its last 204 matches dating back to the beginning of the 2013 National Championship season.
- The Penmen dip to 95-15-15 (.820) over their last 125 contests at home, including 33-8-8 (.755) at Ouellette Stadium.
