#5 Field Hockey Tops AIC 2-0, Christis Scores Twice

Senior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) notched her 24th and 25th goals of the season as #5 SNHU field hockey won 2-0 over American International College Tuesday night on Larkin Field.

 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS  
KEY MOMENTS
  • Christis took a pass from Paradzick from the right corner and scored to put the Penmen up 1-0 just 2:25 into the game. 
  • A long feed from sophomore Jade Hendriks (Huissen, Netherlands) landed on the stick of Christis, who was able to maneuver through the Yellow Jacket defense to give SNHU an insurance goal with 6:24 to play in the third quarter.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • SNHU had a 29-5 shot advantage including 13-0 on goal.
  • The Penmen had nine penalty corners and the Yellow Jackets had six.
  • AIC freshman Frederique den Hartog made 11 saves.
NOTES
  • SNHU improves to 7-4 all-time against American International College with four straight wins and seven of the last eight.
  • SNHU was ranked fifth in Tuesday's NFHCA (Field Hockey Coaches) poll.
  • Christis leads NCAA Division II with 25 goals and has 11 multi-goal games this season.
  • Junior Emma Peeters (Wageningen, Netherlands) has allowed just two goals in her last nine starts (540 minutes) and her goals-against average is 0.79, second best in the nation.

  • SNHU will host St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 1:00 p.m.  The regular-season finale will serve as Senior Day for the Penmen.
