Ryan Kayser (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) scored his first career goal and added an assist as SNHU Ice Hockey rolled past Saint Michael's College 5-2 on Friday night in South Burlington, Vermont.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Penmen scored off a blast from sophomore Coleman Nee (Arlington, Mass.) at 12:01 of the first period. His shot from just inside the blue line sailed towards the net and Murray was able to direct it into the net for his first goal of the season. Junior Jim Minnig (Auburn, Pa.) had the initial pass to earn his first assist of the season.
- SNHU drilled another long shot in for a 2-0 lead with 1:13 left in the first. Kayser scored his first career goal in a man-up situation. Assists on the marker went to senior Jack Gray (Lowell, Mass.) and junior Ryan Pomposelli (Needham, Mass.)
- After the Purple Knights cut the lead to 3-1 early in the second, the Penmen answered to go back up two goals.
- Hirschberger collected the rebound of his own shot to the score with assists to his linemates, freshman Kyle Slingerland (Stittsville, Ont.) and senior Connor Ball (Webster, N.Y.).
- A goal by Saint Michael's just 28 seconds later made it 3-2.
- A second power-play goal for the Penmen came off the stick of Watson 4:01 into the third period. Junior Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ont.) passed to Kayser, who found Watson open on the left wing.
- Devlin added an empty-net goal with 45 seconds to play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Saint Michael's had a 34-30 shot advantage over the Penmen.
- The Penmen went 2-for-3 on the power-play and the Purple Knights were 0-for-3.
- Cole Manahan made 25 saves for Saint Michael's College.
NOTES
- Berke improved to 2-1 on the season in net, and is now sports an 11-6 record.
- Kayser, a defenseman, scored his first career goal.
- Devlin's goal was his first, and fourth of his career.
- Watson leads the Penmen with four goals, and has now scored 17 times in 33 games with the SNHU program.
- The Penmen have scored a power-play goal in four of the five games this season, and five overall. SNHU has only allowed two power-play goals.
- Saint Michael's leads the all-time series with SNHU 53-30-7.
- The Penmen have won three of the last four with the Purple Knights including an NE10 semifinal contest in South Burlington last March which propelled the team to the Championship.
