Alexsis Weiser (Long Beach, Calif.) scored two first-half goals as 13th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University defeated Molloy University 2-1 in the first round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship on Friday afternoon. The East Region contest was played at Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Molloy took a 1-0 lead at 4:26 when Isabella Muro intercepted a pass deep in Penmen territory and fired a shot into the net.
- The Penmen quickly found an answer. Just 55 seconds after the Lion goal, Anderson sent a pass from the far side of the field and connected with Weiser for the tying goal.
- SNHU moved in front 2-1 in the 27th minute on another goal by Weiser, this time a header off a long corner feed by Imogen Noon.
- Neither team scored in the second half – SNHU sophomore Kate Wall (Douglas, Mass.) may have had the best chance for either side with a shot on net with just under 19 minutes to play.

- Weiser came into the game with one goal this season, which she had scored on October 26 vs. New Haven.
- In its tenth appearance, including its seventh straight, SNHU improves to 3-6-3 (.375) in the NCAA postseason.
- This is the consecutive year the Penmen have won in the opening round after defeating Roberts Wesleyan at Saint Rose last season.
- Southern New Hampshire was ranked No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25.
- SNHU reaches 10 wins in a season for the eighth time in the last nine seasons.
- This was the first meeting between SNHU and Molloy in women's soccer.
- The Penmen are now 63-25-24 (.670) over their last 112 matches dating back to the start of the 2017 campaign.
