Dillon Labonte (Lee, N.H.) earned a prestigious award after competing at his first NCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday.
NOTES
- Labonte finished 227th in the race at 10k at 33:31.8. He had a 5:23.7 per mile pace for the race contested in wet conditions.
- Labonte earned his way into the National Championship field with a fourth-place finish at the East Region Championships two weeks ago in Rochester, N.Y.
- Following the race, Labonte was awarded the NCAA Elite 90 award, which goes to the athlete with the highest grade point average at the NCAA Championship.
- The Electrical Engineering and Math major has a 4.0 GPA.
- Labonte had also earned the prestigious NE10 Elite 24 award for the top grade point average among athletes competing at the Conference Championship.
