Eric Sekyaya (Burlington, Mass.) earned All-Region recognition as SNHU men's cross country ran to a sixth-place finish at Saturday's NCAA Division II East Regional Championships.
SNHU RUNNERS
- Labonte ran a 10k personal best of 31:30.5 and finished fourth.
- Sekyaya came in 16th overall with a time of 32:12.6.
- Senior Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) was 39th in 32:59.6.
- Junior Collins Kibet (Iten, Kenya) and sophomore Austin Thorp (Richmond, R.I.) finished in 88th and 89th place. Kibet's first try at 10k was 34:57.9 and Thorp ran a PR of 34:58.8.
- Sophomore Brett Trainor (North Chelmsford, Mass.) finished in 35:46.3.
NOTES
- Southern Connecticut State (54 points), host Roberts Wesleyan (65 points), and Bentley (126 points). The top three teams in each region automatically qualify for the National Championship.
- Owen White of Roberts Wesleyan won the race in 31:15.5, rallying past Tilak Datta of Caldwell in the final 1,000 meters.
UP NEXT
- The NCAA Division II National Championships will be run on the Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, California on November 23.
- The field, including individual qualifiers, will be announced by 3 p.m. ET on Sunday. By finishing fourth, and not a qualifying team, Dillon Labonte will earn a spot in the National Championship.
